A picape Silverado está de volta ao Brasil a partir de 2021. O modelo que deixou de ser produzido e vendido no País em 2001 foi confirmadoem um evento com a mídia argentina por Ernesto Ortíz, vice-presidente de operações para a GM na América Latina.

No evento, de acordo com o site GM Authority, Ortpiz confirmou que o modelo chegará à Argentina ainda este ano, importado do México, e que a empresa trabalha também para oferecer a picape no Brasil no ano que vem.

A Silverado já é comercializada no Chile e Paraguai. Para a Argentina está confirmada na versão 1500, que deve ser a mesma a desembarcar no Brasil. Essa versão vem equipada com motor seis cilindros em linha de 3 litros, turbodiesel, com 280 cv e 63,5 mkgf. O câmbio é o automático de 10 marchas.
A antiga Silverado foi produzida no Brasil entre 1998 e 2001 e oferecida apenas com cabine simples, diferentemente da atual. O modelo de 2001 tinha duas opções de motorização: uma a diesel de 4 litros, aspirado, que rendia 90 cv a 2.800 rpm e 27,5 mkgf a 1.600 rpm; a outra de seis cilindros em linha de 4,2 litros, turbodiesel, de 168 cv a 3.400 rpm e 43,3 mkgf a 2 mil rpm. Em ambas, o câmbio era manual de cinco velocidades.
